Deeside Churches

There are lots of beautiful churches on Deeside.  The most famous is Crathie Kirk (Church of Scotland) where the Royal family worship when they are staying on Deeside.  It is situated on the public road between Ballater and Braemar, opposite the entrance to Balmoral Castle.

There is a Church of Scotland, Episcopal Church (9.30am Sunday Service) and a Catholic Church in Ballater.  The Church of Scotland (Glenmuick Parish Church) is situated in the main square of Ballater, pictured eslewhere on this site.

One of the most picturesquely situated churches is the chapel on the Glen Tanar Estate (pictured below).  Glen Tanar Estate is situated just outside Aboyne.  The chapel is a comfortable stroll from the main estate car park.  It makes a great rural wedding venue.

Another Church of note is the Episcopal church on the Mar Lodge Estate.  Services are regularly there on a Sunday afternoon and are open to the public.

A local church with an impressive website is Aboyne-Dinnet Parish Church.  The meet in Aboyne at 11.30am on a Sunday and can be found at:
